SORD Field Support

Operates a meteorological monitoring network on the NTS to support the necessary environmental, safety, and health responsibilities of DOE/NV.
Maintains a Climatological data base for the NTS and provides all the Climatological services needed to support DOE/NV authorized programs.
Provides special site-specific weather forecast services in direct support of DOE/NV programs and projects on the NTS to guard the safety and health of personnel working on the NTS and to protect vital DOE/NV equipment and facilities.
Maintains trained and certified personnel and modern equipment assets to provide meteorological and radiological support for underground nuclear tests within the stated DOE test-readiness exercises.
Provides weather support to the DOE/NV/NNSA emergency response capability.
